1971 hero, survived 3 wars: Veteran Garodi Thimmappa Alva passes away at 85

​Garodi Thimmappa Alva, a veteran of the 1971 India-Pakistan war, has passed away at 85. He bravely fought in the conflict, even surviving a helicopter crash in enemy territory. Alva participated in three wars against Pakistan. His body was donated to KS Hegde Medical Academy. His memoir was published recently. He is survived by his wife, daughter, and grandchildren.
