Two friends, Shivakumar Nandurkar (51) and Ratan Hotkar (58), died of suspected asphyxiation while manually cleaning a septic tank in Madarasanahalli. Nandurkar entered the tank first and became unable to exit, prompting Hotkar to enter, where both tragically succumbed. An unnatural death case has been registered.
