India secured a decisive seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh, successfully chasing down a modest target of 95 runs on the fifth day of the IND vs BAN 2nd Test at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur on Tuesday, thereby clinching the two-match series.
Rohit Sharma`s squad had previously dominated the first Test in Chennai, winning by a staggering 280 runs. This clean sweep positions India firmly at the top of the World Test Championship 2023-25 points table, while Bangladesh is likely to slip to seventh.
Winning the toss, Rohit elected to have Najmul Hossain Shanto`s team bat first. By the end of Day 1, Bangladesh had reached 107/3 in 35 overs, but rain interruptions resulted in two subsequent days being washed out without any play.
