A year after the birth of his first child, Korean actor Song Joong-ki has now welcomed his second child, a daughter, with his wife Katie Louise Saunders in Rome. On Wednesday, Song Joong-ki shared the news via his fans cafe. The actor shared a monochrome picture of him holding his newborn’s tiny hand and wrote, “I am in Rome now. It’s been over a year since I met my first child here. I’m incredibly grateful to announce that we’ve been blessed with another beautiful baby. Our lovely princess was born healthy, and both my wife and our baby are doing well and resting. I’ll take good care of my family here and return to the set soon. Wishing you a warm and happy year-end. Love you all.”

Song Joong-ki’s agency, High Zium Studio, also confirmed the news with a statement of their own that read, “Song Joong Ki welcomed a baby girl to the world today. He is thankful to everyone who is sending him congratulatory messages, please send him your blessings and lots of support.”
Earlier in July, the agency announced that Song Joong-ki and Katy Louise Saunders were expecting their second child. The couple, who got married in January last year, welcomed their first child, a son, in June 2023.
On the work front, Song Joong-ki was seen in two films this year – My Name is Loh Kiwan and Bogota: The City of Lost. Next, the actor will be seen in a romance K-drama titled My Youth, in which he’ll share screen space with The Atypical Family fame Chun Woo Hee. The drama explores the emotional and transformative journey of Sun Woo Hae (Song Joong Ki) and Sung Je Yeon (Chun Woo Hee) as they reconnect and navigate their lives. It will also explore the truths of growing up and the changes that come about in the time in between. My Youth is set to premiere in 2025.
