Rs 18,948 crore at stake: Poll delays put Karnataka’s central funds in jeopardy
Karnataka risks losing a significant portion of its Rs 18,948 crore grant from the 15th Finance Commission due to delays in local body elections. The state has until March 2026 to hold elections for zilla panchayats, taluk panchayats, and urban local bodies, including BBMP, or forfeit the funds allocated for these bodies.
