CBI names Bangalore University, JNU professors in NAAC bribery case FIR

Academics from top universities are under CBI scrutiny for allegedly inflating Naac accreditation for Andhra Pradesh’s deemed-to-be-university. An alleged Rs 28 lakh bribe was exchanged after initial demands were reduced from Rs 1.8 crore. Accused include JNU professor Rajeev Sijariya, Bangalore University’s Prof M Hanumanthappa, and Naac adviser M S Shyamasundar. Naac plans corrective measures.
