Bengaluru PVR INOX fined Rs 1 lakh for playing long ads during film screening

A Bengaluru consumer court ordered PVR INOX to pay Rs one lakh in damages for delaying films with excessive ads, calling it an unfair practice. The complainant, whose film started 25 minutes late, was awarded Rs 20,000 for disruption and Rs 8,000 for litigation. The court emphasized the value of time, dismissing PVR’s defense citing government regulations.
