Karnataka’s Udupi reports surge in dog and snake bites, infant mortality, and health concerns

Udupi district has faced 3,717 dog bites and 70 snake bites this year, leading to three snake bite deaths. Deputy Commissioner Vidya Kumari K. emphasized stray dog sterilization, child immunisation, and communicable disease awareness. The district also saw 73 infant deaths and 1,414 tuberculosis cases. Anti-tobacco measures and maintaining blood stock are also critical focuses.
