A former software professional in Hyderabad was duped of over Rs 2.9 crore by fraudsters posing as a cryptocurrency investor on Facebook. Lured by promises of high profits on a fake platform, he invested heavily between July and September 2025. Despite paying additional charges, the victim was denied access to his funds, prompting a police investigation.
