Earlier, the Gujarat-born cricketer was at the BCCI`s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru to get the clearance for his back spasm injury. According to several media reports, he also bowled the full quota of overs (10 overs) during the assessment.
According to PTI, the new injury could be a result of him bowling 10 overs at the CoE.
Earlier, along with Pandya, veteran batsman Rohit Sharma was also cleared by the Sports Science team of BCCI`s CoE to feature in the upcoming 50-over format`s series.
Star batter Virat Kohli is already missing the series owing to a hamstring injury. The “Men in Blue” will enter the series after securing a dominating victory by an innings and 300 runs over the Afghans at the Maharaja Singh PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh.
