In the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2026, Argentina’s skipper Lionel Messi is having a dream run as he has already accomplished multiple milestones.

Speaking to the reporters, the Argentine skipper said that he will continue to play as long as he is physically fit and can contribute to the team’s success.

“Yes, yes. I will continue for some time, as long as I can contribute, feel good physically, and help my teammates. I will keep playing,” he said.

Later, when asked about possibly representing Argentina in the FIFA World Cup 2030, the 39-year-old footballer remained non-committal. The Rosario-born footballer also added that he is focused on the present.

“I don’t know. The truth is, I’m not thinking about that right now. It seems a bit far off, but, as I said, I’m living one day at a time and focused on the present,” said Messi.

In Argentina’s recently concluded clash against Austria, Messi scored a brace and helped his side secure a victory by 2-0 at the Dallas Stadium in Texas.

Argentina will clash against Jordan on June 28 at the Dallas Stadium in Texas.
