Google AI:Google is using your data; change these 5 settings immediately to keep your privacy safe

Google has changed its Terms of Service and AI data policy. Now, photos, audio, and other files shared with AI features like Gemini, Google Search, and Lens can be used to improve AI models. If you do not want your data to be used in AI training, you can limit it by changing some settings. Under Google’s new rules, if you interact with Gemini, upload photos to Google Lens, or share audio and files with AI features, this data can be used to improve AI models. In some cases, trained human reviewers may also view this data for quality checks. However, general data from Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Photos is not currently part of this AI training program. Avoid sharing personal information Today, Google is not just a search engine. Many people ask it for medical advice. They understand legal documents. They also get office files analyzed. They get personal photos edited. They talk to Gemini using voice. In such situations, users often unknowingly share personal information with AI. This is why privacy experts advise against uploading sensitive documents to AI tools. How to stop the use of data for AI training? 1. Search Settings – Go to Search Services Settings in your Google Account. 2. Turn off Save Media – Untick the Save Media option. This will prevent history from being saved for AI. 3. Turn on Auto-Delete – Set search history to automatically delete after 3, 6, 18, or 36 months. 4. Turn off Search Personalization – If you don’t want Google to show results based on your past activity, turn off Search Personalization. 5. My Activity – Go to My Activity to see which platforms are saving data. Review it. What will change if settings are turned off? – Google Search, Maps, Lens, and Gemini will work as before, but they may be less personalized. For example: – Recommendations for your favorite restaurants will be less accurate. – Old searches will not be found quickly. – Google Maps will suggest fewer locations based on your preferences. – AI will also have less context from your past activity. What to avoid uploading to AI? Experts advise not to share this information on AI chatbots… – Aadhaar-PAN-Passport copy – Bank statements and financial documents – Password – Medical report – Legal contracts – Confidential office files – OTP
