Siddaramaiah’s curtain call: Politics corrupt, will stay out of Karnataka poll fray
Former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will not contest the 2028 assembly elections. He cited growing corruption and the difficulty of clean politics as reasons for his decision. Siddaramaiah stated he is 79 and health may affect his work enthusiasm. He has represented multiple constituencies during his long political career. Supporters urged him to continue, but he remained firm on his retirement.
