Kannada activists withdrew their bandh call after meeting chief minister DK Shivakumar. The bandh was related to the Cauvery water-sharing dispute with Tamil Nadu. Protests were planned across Karnataka, including toll plazas and highways. The organizations sought measures for Karnataka’s water needs and the Mekedatu project. This development occurred as the state Assembly began its new session.
