Telangana records the highest number of fruit and vegetable samples in India with pesticide residues

Telangana recorded the highest number of fruit and vegetable samples with pesticide residues exceeding limits. This data covers samples tested between 2023 and 2026 under a national monitoring project. Karnataka and Maharashtra also showed significant numbers of contaminated samples, while the national average was lower. Experts highlight health risks from repeated exposure to these excessive pesticide residues.
