Irfan Pathan participates in 'Walk for Water' Maha Walkathon

Amid his busy schedule in cricket and life, former Team India cricketer Irfan Pathan recently participated in the ‘Walk for Water’ Maha Walkathon.

The ‘Walk for Water’ Maha Walkathon is a public awareness initiative organised by the Soil and Water Conservation Department of the Government of Maharashtra.

Irfan Pathan’s international career 

Irfan concluded his Test career with 29 matches and scored 1105 runs. With a top score of 102 runs, he has six half-centuries and a ton. In ODIs, he made 120 appearances for the “Men in Blue” and accumulated 1544 runs, including five half-centuries. His career-best score in the 50-over format is 83 runs. In T20Is, the Gujarat-born cricketer played 24 games and garnered 172 runs, with a best score of an unbeaten 33 runs.

With the ball, he has bagged 100 wickets in Test cricket, and his best figures are 12 wickets for 126 runs. In the 50-over format, Irfan has 173 wickets under his belt. Her best bowling figures in ODIs are five wickets for 27 runs. In the shortest format of the game, he claimed 28 wickets and registered the best figures of three wickets for 16 runs.

After his professional career, Irfan began his commentary career. He is also considered as one of the active voices among former cricketers.

The incumbent Team India is busy engaging in the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka. Shubman Gill-led men have already secured a victory in the first Test match at Galle International Stadium near Galle Fort. They will now shift their focus to winning the second Test match against the Lankans. The second game will be played at the Sinhalese Sports Club Cricket Ground from August 23.

The ongoing Test series is one of the important series for Team India in the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) cycle. The win in the second Test match against Sri Lanka will be crucial for Team India to keep hopes alive for the WTC final.
