First phone with Snapdragon 4 Gen-5 processor launched in India:Poco M8x with 3-day battery life and 7,900mAh battery, priced from ₹18,999

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Poco launched the Poco M8x 5G smartphone in India today, August 21. This is the first phone in the country with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processor. In this mid-budget segment device, the company has provided a 7900mAh battery, which can give a backup of 3 days on normal use when fully charged. Additionally, it has a 6.9-inch screen. Poco M8x has been launched in two variants. Its price starts from ₹20,999. In the launch offer, a cashback of ₹2,000 will be available on the phone. The sale of the phone will start from August 27. Poco M8x 5G Smartphone: Specifications – Display: The smartphone features a 6.9-inch HD+ LCD display with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. For enhanced smoothness, it supports a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. The screen’s peak brightness is 825 nits, making it easily viewable even outdoors. For display protection, Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection is provided. – Performance: The Poco M8x features an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processor, built on 4-nanometer fabrication. Its clock speed goes up to 2.4 GHz. To keep the phone cool during gaming, an ultra-large 12439mm graphite cooling sheet has been provided. The phone runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3, based on Android 16, which will receive 4 years of OS upgrades and 6 years of security updates.
