Satellite observations reveal that a glacier collapse instigated severe flash floods in the Rasuwa district of Nepal. An avalanche consisting of ice and rock temporarily obstructed the river, creating a sudden surge of water. As a result, the Bhote Koshi river dramatically widened, flooding areas beyond its usual limits. Preliminary analysis of the incident was conducted by ISRO’s National Remote Sensing Centre, highlighting the crisis’s impact.
