Karnataka Congress president B K Hariprasad called jailed activist Umar Khalid a nationalist. He criticized the ABVP for opposing a documentary screening at NLSIU. The ABVP demanded cancellation of the screening, which was later rescheduled by the university. BJP leaders condemned Hariprasad’s remarks and linked them to past Congress actions. They also criticized the Congress party for alleged appeasement politics.
