Enjoy the IMAX theatre experience from home:Meta launches VR smart glasses with voice-based ticket booking
You will now be able to enjoy the experience of an IMAX theatre from home. You will be able to shop simply by speaking, as well as carry out tasks such as booking tickets and appointments. Mark Zuckerberg’s company Meta unveiled new smart glasses and a virtual reality device at its annual event on 23 September. 1. Ray-Ban Meta Audio AI Glasses Without a Camera Smart glasses have often raised concerns about secret recordings because of their cameras. To address this issue, Meta has unveiled the camera-free Ray-Ban Meta Audio AI Glasses. They feature only microphones and speakers, allowing users to listen to music, make calls, and use the Meta AI assistant.
2. Dolby Atmos-supported Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 The company has also launched a new version of its regular camera-equipped smart glasses for photography and video enthusiasts, called the ‘Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3’. It offers better battery life than the previous version, lasting up to 9 hours. It also supports Dolby Atmos audio. 3. 100-gram ‘Meta VR Glasses’ Meta has introduced the ‘Meta VR Glasses’, weighing just 100 grams, as a replacement for its ‘Quest headset’. They look like ordinary glasses and will compete with Apple’s Vision Pro. To keep the weight down, the battery and processor have been housed in a separate small device weighing 300 grams. It features a 5K screen on which clear text can be read without blurring. It offers an IMAX-like cinema experience in 3D. With a battery life of around 3 hours, these glasses can be connected to a computer or Mac, allowing you to work on multiple virtual windows simultaneously. 4. Meta Charm introduced to run ‘Muse AI Assistant’ At the event held in Menlo Park, California, the company also introduced a small gadget called ‘Meta Charm’. It will be used to run the company’s new ‘Muse AI Assistant’. The AI device is about the size of Apple’s AirPods case. It features a 2-inch touchscreen and 5G connectivity. The device will be ready for sale by December. However, the company has not yet disclosed its price. While unveiling the device, Mark Zuckerberg said, “We have packed the entire ‘Muse’ experience, including real-time voice and avatar features, into a small gadget. It easily fits on your keychain and is always available to talk to you.” Shopping and appointment bookings will be possible through smart glasses Meta has also integrated its ‘Muse AI’ assistant with all the company’s smart glasses. Users will no longer need to take out their phones to shop or book a service. They will be able to get such tasks done simply by speaking to their glasses. In simple terms, Meta’s Muse AI turns your glasses into a ‘personal assistant’, allowing you to handle digital tasks using only your voice, without moving your hands. Glasses with displays will now be available outside the US Meta said that the ‘Meta Ray-Ban Display’ glasses, introduced a year ago, will now also be available for sale outside the US. They feature a virtual display in the right lens.
