Floating photovoltaic platforms in a French Polynesian lagoon created substantial reductions in light reaching the seabed, which was studied for one year. Researchers monitored the environmental impact of four platforms and a control area during the study. They observed strong attenuation in ultraviolet radiation under the platforms, affecting diverse wavelengths. However, changes in water temperature remained statistically insignificant and below sensor accuracy levels.
