How former havildar plotted Madras Regiment arms theft to fund robberies and extortion; 7 arrested

Bollarum police detained seven individuals linked to the theft of firearms from the Madras Regiment. This group included active Army personnel who conspired with a former soldier for the theft. The prime accused allegedly planned to sell the weapons for profit and commit robberies in the region. Investigators revealed that contacts in West Bengal were involved in facilitating the sale of the stolen firearms.
