Can Bengaluru find more ground to play?

In Bengaluru, there is a significant shortage of public playgrounds available for children and young adults. A survey shows that outdoor space per person is below the WHO standard. Many existing playgrounds are poorly maintained and located far from residential areas. Urban planners highlight the need to repurpose under-utilized public land for recreational purposes. Citizens’ involvement can also enhance the utility of existing playgrounds for community use.
