Karnataka reservoir storage down 30% as water crisis looms
Karnataka is grappling with a significant water crisis, suffering from a 30% shortfall in monsoon precipitation. As of mid-October, water levels in reservoirs have plummeted compared to last year, prompting the declaration of many taluks as drought-stricken. Chief Minister D K Shivakumar warns of impending water and power shortages, highlighting the urgent need for careful management of the dwindling resources as conditions may deteriorate further.
