How Hyderabad-linked call centre targeted 20 lakh Americans
A call centre fraud network linked to Hyderabad targeted nearly 20 lakh Americans through deceitful practices. These scammers impersonated US officials, exploiting personal information to deceive senior citizens. Victims were coerced into surrendering their savings to purported government safekeeping. Investigations revealed cash and gold collection directly from victims’ homes, enriching the fraudsters. The operation spanned multiple countries, with proceeds funneled through cryptocurrency and hawala channels.
