In a cost-saving move, the Telangana government has redesigned the Godavari Drinking Water Project Phase II. The project will now source water from Mallannasagar reservoir instead of Kondapochammasagar, saving Rs 2,000 crore. This decision comes after the previous contract was cancelled due to land acquisition issues.
