2025: A Year Full of Star Power and New Beginnings
1. Sky Force – January 24
Akshay Kumar will be back with a bang in 2025 in the hotly-anticipated war action drama Sky Force. Directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, the film is jointly produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and Jio Studios. Expect to witness mind-blowing aerial combat and thrilling military action sequences when Sky Force premieres in the theatres.
2. Deva – February 14
Valentine’s Day will be extra special next year with the release of Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde’s cop thriller Deva. Some BTS scenes of Shahid from the film have already created quite a buzz. For audiences looking for a fusion of love, action and drama this Rosshan Andrrews-directed movie is for you.
3. Junaid Khan Untitled Movies – February
After wowing movie buffs with his spectacular performance in the Netflix crime drama Maharaja, Aamir Khan’s son Junaid will appear on the silver screens in not one but two untitled projects. One of the films is produced by Aamir and features Sai Pallavi. The other one is a romantic drama with Khushi Kapoor as the female lead.
4. C Sankaran Nair Film – March
You need not doubt a film if it is led by R Madhavan and Akshay Kumar. They have been roped in for the first time in a yet-to-be-titled social drama set against the backdrop of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Ananya Panday will also play a major role. Based on the book The Case That Shook The Empire, the movie will centre around a brave barrister who opposes the British Empire demanding justice for the atrocity which happened in the pre-Independence era.
5. Sikandar – April
Salman Khan will celebrate Eid next year with the release of AR Murugadoss’ Sikandar. Expect ample action scenes featuring Bhaijaan who will be bringing his signature swag to the screens. Who knows, Sikandar can be one of the biggest films of the year.
6. War 2 – August 15
After the 2019 film War, led by Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, fans are eagerly awaiting the film’s sequel, directed by Ayan Mukerji. The next part will take the action to new heights an intense storyline is likely to keep viewers engaged. While Hrithik will reprise his role as Major Kabir, Jr NTR will be making his Bollywood debut with War 2.
7. Delhi Files – August 15
Vivek Agnihotri is set to present a gritty and realistic political drama with Delhi Files demonstrating India’s rich political history. In fact, the film is divided into two segments. The first part titled The Bengal Chapter includes the director’s wife Pallavi Joshi who is also co-producing the project.
8. Thama – November
Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna in a horror comedy? Yes, please. The two celebrities have joined Maddock’s horror comedy universe Thama. The film promises a gripping love story but with a bloody backdrop. Directed by Munjya fame Aditya Sarpotdar, Thama’s official announcement was unveiled recently.
10. Alpha – December 25
Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh have joined forces in this Yash Raj Films production. This first female-led action thriller is a part of YRF’s Spy Universe. The project is directed by Shiv Rawail.
2026: A Year of Majestic Sequels and Epic Narratives
1. Border 2 – January 26
Border (1997) was an epic tale of patriotism and sacrifice. On an even grander and heroic scale comes Border 2 by Anurag Singh. The makers have doubled the excitement of fans by calling it “India’s biggest war film.” Border 2‘s impressive cast includes Varun Dhawan, Sunny Deol and Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh. We can’t wait.
2. Love And War – March
Sanjay Leela Bhansali has chosen Bollywood power couple Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor in this eagerly-waited film. Scheduled to release on the occasion of Eid, the plot is kept under tight wraps. Vicky Kaushal is also set to play a major role in the movie.
3. Ramayana – Part 1 – November
Nitish Tiwari’s Ramayana — Part 1 has been generating much excitement among fans. Especially to witness Ranbir Kapoor in the titular character of Lord Ram. All eyes are on the on-screen adaption of the great Indian epic. Part 2 will be released in 2027.
4. Mahavatar – December 25
Mahavatar is a mythological drama with Vicky Kaushal essaying the character of Chiranjeevi Parashuram. Directed by Stree and Stree 2 fame Amar Kaushik, the film aims to retell the story of the ancient legend of Parashurama — a revered figure in Hindu mythology. Mahavatar is also expected to weave modern narrative techniques.
