Mangaluru woman falls victim to online ‘gift scam’, duped of Rs 7.10 lakh by fraudster posing as doctor

A woman from Mangaluru was defrauded online by a man posing as a neurologist who claimed to have sent her expensive gifts. She transferred Rs 7.10 lakh after being told by multiple callers to pay security deposits and money laundering clearance charges. A case has been filed with the Mangaluru South police.
