All-rounder Beau Webster is hopeful of cementing his spot in spot in Australia`s playing XI for the World Test Championship (WTC) final.

“I was lucky enough to play four games for Warwickshire in some different conditions with the Dukes ball. I think it was only beneficial for both my batting and bowling, and I feel like I am hitting the ball as well as I ever have and hopefully that can continue if I get the nod (against South Africa),” said Wesbster to ICC.

The WTC final is scheduled to be played between Australia and South Africa at the Lord`s Cricket Ground, starting from June 11 to 15.

Representing Warwickshire, the right-hander scored 157 runs in four matches, which saw him smash a half-century. With the ball, the all-rounder also scalped 10 wickets.

Further speaking, the 31-year-old Australian all-rounder stated that he is doing everything that he can to play in the WTC final.

“I would be hugely proud to represent the country in such a big game. The boys look forward to this fixture, and the two-year cycles mean there is a lot of cricket to get to this point and being a part of that, I am proud of. I will be doing everything I can to try and play and show everyone what I can do,” he concluded.

Pat Cummins and his men will look to retain their WTC mace, which they won after defeating India in the previous edition. If they manage to secure a win over South Africa, they will then become the first team to defend a WTC title.

On the other hand, the Temba Bavuma-led Proteas are all geared up to clinch their first ICC trophy in over two decades.

Australia`s squad: Usman Khawaja, Sam Konstas, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Alex Carey, Josh Inglis, Cameron Green, Beau Webster, Pat Cummins (c), Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Scott Boland, Nathan Lyon, Matt Kuhnemann. Travelling reserve: Brendan Doggett.
