Punjab cops verifying arms licences of Amritpal’s men
After ‘Waris Punjab De’ head and self-styled pro-Khalistan Sikh preacher Amritpal Singh and his followers laid siege to the Ajnala police station in Amritsar district on February 23, the Punjab police have started verification of the weapon licences of at least nine of their members. Faridkot additional district magistrate has already cancelled the weapons licence of Gurbhej Singh of Gondara village under Bajakhana police station in Faridkot district on February 20. He had a .32 bore revolver and a .315 bore rifle. Weapon licences are issued by the district magistrate based on a police verification report.
