BMTC bus catches fire, conductor sleeping inside charred to death
A 43-year-old Bangalore Metropolitan Transportation Corporation (BMTC) conductor, Muttaaya Swamy, was charred to death after a parked bus in which he was sleeping caught fire at Lingadheeranahalli bus stop, in the city’s southwest, on Friday. The bus driver, who was sleeping in the dormitory nearby, woke up and came out around 4.45am to see his vehicle up in flames. He alerted the night patrol police, who, in turn, called the fire control room.
