Apple has officially opened applications for its Swift Student Challenge 2026, inviting young developers from around the world to show their coding talent. The application window is now live and will remain open until 28 February. This annual challenge encourages students to build creative apps using Apple’s Swift tools and solve real-world problems. Winners get global recognition and some even earn a chance to visit Apple’s iconic headquarters in Cupertino. Who can take part? Apple has set clear eligibility rules for applicants: 1. Participants must not be full-time professional developers 2. They must meet the minimum age requirement in their country 3. An accredited school or college Additionally, applicants must be registered Apple developers or members of the Apple Developer Programme. App creation guidelines Students must build an app playground that focuses on a local issue or a larger social problem. Apple encourages originality, but the app experience should be short enough to explore in three minutes. Key rules include: Third-party open-source code or public-domain media can be used, but proper credit is mandatory.
