YouTube service down for users worldwide:’Something Went Wrong’ message hits app; Downdetector reported 240,000+ users affected

The service of YouTube, the world’s most popular video platform, suddenly crashed. According to Downdetector, millions of users worldwide were experiencing difficulty accessing it from around 6:20 AM to approximately 8:00 AM. The biggest problem occurred in its mobile app, where users were seeing a “Something went wrong” message. However, when it was refreshed two or three times, videos started appearing. But it was not working completely. Meanwhile, its website was accessible. According to the outage tracking website Downdetector, around 2.83 lakh people in America complained about YouTube not working. In India, the number of complaints on Downdetector crossed 18,000 around 7 AM today. Here, 71% of users faced problems using the app. YouTube Team said: The recommendation system had a glitch Regarding this outage, YouTube’s team said in an X post today at 07:26 AM – If you are currently having trouble using YouTube, you are not alone. Our teams are investigating this matter, and we will provide any updates here. Following this, in another update, YouTube said that due to a glitch in our recommendation system, videos were not appearing on various YouTube platforms, such as the homepage, YouTube app, YouTube Music, and YouTube Kids.
