WhatsApp security tips:Follow these 3 methods to keep your account safe and hack-proof
With online scams increasing every day, many people fear that their WhatsApp account could be hacked. While no method can make your account 100% hack-proof, you can greatly reduce the risk by using a few important security features. Most hacks happen because we unknowingly make mistakes like clicking on unknown links or sharing OTPs. Hackers take advantage of these small errors. The good news? You can strengthen your account security in just a few steps. 1. Turn on two-sep verification This is one of the most powerful security features on WhatsApp. When you enable two-step verification, you create a 6-digit PIN. If someone tries to register your WhatsApp number on another phone, they won’t be able to log in without this PIN even if they have your SIM card. To enable it:
Go to Settings > Account > Two-step verification > Turn on and set your PIN. Read also: Did you know WhatsApp can expose your IP address? 2. Activate Passkey for extra protection WhatsApp also offers a passkey feature for stronger protection. Once enabled, it adds another security layer, making it much harder for hackers to access your account. To turn it on:

Silence Unknown Callers Many scam cases start with international WhatsApp calls from unknown numbers. These calls are often linked to fraud attempts. To stay safe, enable this feature:
Go to Settings > Privacy > Calls > Silence Unknown Callers. Read also: Giving your phone to someone? Turn on this setting first This won’t block the calls completely, but your phone won’t ring for unknown numbers.
