Zee Music Company has expanded its artist roster with the signing of legendary singer, composer, and pianist Adnan Sami for exclusive non-film music releases, alongside contemporary pop artist and producer QARAN. The dual signings mark a significant step in the label`s broader strategic shift toward independent, artist-led content and signal its growing ambition to shape the future of Indian pop music beyond the world of film soundtracks.
With these additions, Zee Music is doubling down on its investment in original music and homegrown talent.
Sami, a Padma Shri recipient, has been one of the most influential and recognisable voices in Indian pop and film music for over three decades. His catalogue includes some of the most beloved tracks in the genre. Among them, `Lift Karade`, `Kabhi To Nazar Milao`, `Tera Chehra`, and `Bheegi Bheegi Raaton Mein`, have remained deeply embedded in the cultural consciousness of Indian music listeners. Beyond the subcontinent, Sami made history as the first Asian artist to sell out London`s Wembley Arena for two consecutive nights, a milestone that underscored his remarkable reach as a crossover artist. Under the new exclusive deal with Zee Music Company, he will release a series of original non-film singles, opening what both sides describe as a fresh creative chapter.
Complementing that signing, QARAN brings a distinctly contemporary voice to the label`s roster. Recognised as one of the key architects of modern Indian urban pop, he has built a reputation for seamlessly blending Indian melodic sensibilities with global production aesthetics. His work includes the widely celebrated `Haaye Oye` and breakout hit `Tareefan`, a track widely regarded as one of the defining pop crossovers of the past decade.
Sujal Parekh, Chief Business Officer at Zee Music Company, described the signings as part of a defining phase for the label one focused on building a dynamic platform for artists and taking Indian music to audiences worldwide.
Both Adnan Sami and QARAN confirmed that new music is currently in development, with releases expected in the near future.
