A highlight of the celebrations was the singing of `Hosanna` hymns, echoing the biblical proclamation of praise and salvation. Congregations sang in unison, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere within church premises and during processions.

Church leaders, in their sermons, called on believers to embrace humility, peace, and sacrifice, reflecting on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.

In both urban and rural areas, the day was marked by prayers, fellowship, and vibrant participation, with many attending in traditional attire.

The observance sets the tone for the Holy Week, leading to Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

After the processions, special church and prayer services were organised by various churches of different denominations across the state.

In their sermons, local pastors and church elders preached the significance of the day, locally known as `Tumkau Ni`.

Special teas were served to church members after worship services in the morning as part of the celebration.

According to Biblical teachings, Jesus Christ rode into Jerusalem on a donkey on the last Sunday before his crucifixion.

The Gospels record that people spread their cloaks and palm leaves on the street, shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” and “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” to honour him as the long-awaited Messiah and King.
