Matthew Gallagher (41) has been demonstrating something from a Los Angeles home that is leaving the world’s biggest entrepreneurs amazed. No big team and no fancy office – just a laptop, some AI tools, and incredible passion. The result – in just two months and with an investment of $20,000 (currently 18.5 lakh rupees), a company has been built that is on track to do business worth 16,700 crore rupees this year. Gallagher’s company Medvee runs a telehealth platform that sells GLP-1 weight loss drugs online. When Medvee started in September 2024, 300 customers joined in the very first month. In the second month, this number increased by 1,000. In Medvee’s first full business year in 2025, the company made sales of $40.1 million (3,700 crore rupees). This generated a profit of 16.2%, which is around 600 crore rupees, many times more than the 5.5% profit of Hims, a giant company in this sector. Quick decision-making is Medvee’s biggest strength – Gallagher OpenAI’s CEO Sam Altman had said in 2024 that thanks to AI, soon a single person would be able to build a $1 billion company. Hearing Medvee’s story, Altman said that he had made a bet with tech friends and perhaps he won. Gallagher said, ‘I make decisions quickly. That is Medvee’s biggest strength.’ More than 12 AI tools managing Medvee’s entire business Gallagher took the help of a dozen AI tools in building the company. He got coding done with ChatGPT, Claude, Grok. Created images and videos for advertising with ‘Midjourney’ and ‘Runway’. Prepared an AI voice system for customer service with ElevenLabs. Also created an AI clone of his own voice, so that AI could handle tasks like taking personal appointments. Tasks like medicine delivery, doctors’ network and compliance are being handled by platforms like CareValidate, OpenLoop Health. The only employee, who is also the founder’s own brother When work increased, Gallagher hired his younger brother Elliot. He is the company’s only employee. Elliot’s job is to filter unnecessary messages and calls reaching his brother, so that he can focus on real work. Earlier, Gallagher had run ‘Watch Gang’ company with 60 employees. It couldn’t become profitable. From this he learned – more people means more expenses and slower decisions. Daily earnings of 28 crore rupees, helping homeless youth with it Gallagher is now earning more than 30 lakh dollars (28 crore rupees) every day. But he doesn’t keep all the earnings for himself. With a large portion of the profits, he helps organizations/people working in the field of homeless youth and animal welfare. Gallagher’s business model has now become an interesting source of inspiration. This journey that started from a homeless childhood has today become an example – of the fact that in the current era of AI, if you have imagination and skill, nothing is impossible.
