Discipline sucks: Serena cries after teaching daughter a lesson

Former World No. 1 tennis ace Serena Williams has said that it hurts to be harsh on her daughter, Alexis Olympia, eight, in order to teach her a lesson, but believes that it has to be done anyway.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion recently revealed on social media platform X that she had a tough time while stopping her daughter from going for a sleepover as she had not listened to her mother when asked to go to bed.

“I told my daughter to go to bed. She did not, therefore, she missed out on her sleepover. She cried. But what she did not know is, I cried harder. I hate when she cries. Discipline sucks. But sometimes it’s important,” Williams, 44, wrote to her 10.6 million followers on X.
