Airtel services are down again in many parts of the country. Airtel users are not receiving network signals in many major cities including Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata. This is the second time Airtel’s service has gone down within a week. Earlier on August 18, Airtel users across the country faced signal-related issues. According to Down Detector, a platform that reports real-time status of websites and online services, Airtel’s internet, calls, and messaging services have been affected since 11 AM. Around 7000 complaints were registered at peak around 12:05 PM. About 52% of people facing problems are having trouble with mobile signals. 31% of people are experiencing difficulties with mobile internet. Meanwhile, 17% of people have reported total blackout. Airtel discontinued its cheapest recharge plan Earlier on August 20, Airtel had discontinued its cheapest 1GB daily data prepaid plans. These plans were priced at ?249. They offered unlimited calling and 100 SMS with 28 days validity. Now plans with daily data and 28 days validity start from ?299. This includes 1.5GB daily data.
