Tennis ace Aryna Sabalenka has had a week to remember, not just because she clinched the Miami Open title by defeating Coco Gauff 6-2, 4-6, 6-3, but also given the fact that she met Brazilian football icon Ronaldo Nazario.

The Belarusian World No. 1 Instagrammed a series of pictures capturing her eventful week in Miami, and in one of them she is seen standing alongside the former Real Madrid and Inter Milan striker, who gifted her a signed Brazil football team jersey. Sabalenka is engaged to Brazilian businessman Georgios Frangulis which possibly explains the connect with Ronaldo, 49, who attended her semi-final against Elena Rybakina.

Ronaldo, nicknamed O Fenomeno (the phenomenon), played 98 games for Brazil, scoring 62 goals, and was also part of their victorious World Cup sides in 1994 and 2002. He won the Ballon d’Or twice (1997, 2002) and was the highest goalscorer in World Cup history (15 goals) until 2014, when his record was surpassed by Germany’s Miroslav Klose (16).
