A Bengaluru-based software engineer, Shashidhar, fell victim to an online job scam, losing over Rs 28 lakh. He was contacted via Telegram and lured with promises of high returns for completing tasks. After initial small reimbursements built trust, he transferred large sums, only to be defrauded, leading to a police investigation.
