A peaceful sunday breakfast ride turned violent for a group of bikers in Gurugram on April 20, when they were ambushed near the Dwarka Expressway by a group of drunk men. The assailants not only beat up the bikers but also smashed their bikes, causing damage worth lakhs. Brutal assault in broad daylight Hardik Sharma, one of the victims, described the horrifying incident. “They hit me with an iron bat,” he said, adding that his helmet likely saved his life. He also claimed the attackers threatened him with a knife and warned, “We will shoot you if you record us.” The bikers were heading from Ambience Mall to Panchgaon when a black Scorpio started tailing them aggressively. When they pulled over to avoid confrontation, the SUV stopped too its drunk passengers stepped out, drinks still in hand, and launched a violent attack. AI tools help uncover the attackers In an unexpected twist, Sharma used paid Artificial Intelligence tools to identify the attackers on Instagram before the police made any progress. He even tracked down the gym they frequented and passed all the information to authorities. Despite this, the FIR was delayed by 12 hours, and no arrests have been made yet. Sharma estimates the damage to his bike alone at ₹4–5 lakh. Police say they’re investigating Gurugram Police have acknowledged identifying the suspects through CCTV footage and said efforts are underway to catch them. However, the delay in action has raised serious concerns about the response to such violent crimes. This incident highlights both the alarming lawlessness on city roads and the growing role of AI in modern-day justice.
