China’s drone control:China, which makes 80% of the world’s drones, mandates real-name registration and mobile linking from May

China, which manufactures around 80% of the world’s commercial drones, is now strictly implementing ‘drone control’ in its skies. By 2025, over 30 lakh drones have been registered in the country, which is a 50% increase in one year, but along with this rapid growth, the government has also tightened control. Penalties and even imprisonment have been imposed for flying drones without permission. From May, real-name registration of every drone will be mandatory and flight data will be transmitted to the government in real time. Real-time drone data will have to be provided to the government – Drones will need to be linked to ID or mobile number.
– Real-time flight data will have to be sent to the government.
– Obtaining a permit one day before flying in restricted areas is mandatory.
– Large areas in many cities have been declared no-fly zones.
– Even small drones have been given limited exemption below 400 feet.
– Ban on sale, rental and external entry of drones in Beijing. – A limit of maximum 3 drones per address has been set.
– Provision for fine, confiscation and jail for flying without permission.
– The impact on the drone market is also clearly visible. Due to decreased demand in the local market, dealers’ sales have dropped rapidly, many people have been forced to abandon new businesses like drone photography.
