Dinosaurs had cancer 70 million years ago, new study offers clues for cancer treatment

In a groundbreaking discovery, scientists have confirmed a 70-million-year-old duck-billed dinosaur, Telmatosaurus Transsylvanicus, suffered from a benign jaw tumour, ameloblastoma. This remarkable finding, in present-day Romania, links ancient and modern biology, offering insights into cancer’s evolution. Researchers used advanced imaging, discovering preserved proteins and structures resembling red blood cells.
