Driver arrested for cheating woman on promise of marriage; rejection led her to consume poison, critical in ICU

​In Udupi, Hallihole Bharat was arrested for allegedly cheating a 23-year-old woman with false promises of marriage. According to the complaint filed by her brother, Bharat, who knew the woman’s caste, backed out of the marriage on June 9. Distraught, the woman consumed rat poison and is currently in the ICU.
