Hyderabad: DoT prevents Rs 228cr from falling into fraudsters’ hands
A new system, the Financial Fraud Risk Indicator (FFRI), has successfully blocked ₹228 crore in cyber fraud attempts and frozen over 10 lakh bank accounts. Launched by the Department of Telecommunications, the initiative uses data to flag suspicious phone numbers, preventing transactions to fraudsters. This proactive measure is now being expanded to include cooperative banks to further safeguard public funds.
