Andhra Pradesh is making history by becoming the home of India’s first Quantum Valley Tech Park, a massive leap toward becoming a global hub in quantum computing. The cutting-edge facility will be established in Amaravati and is set to open on January 1, 2026. A quantum leap for India During a major MoU signing ceremony at his residence in Undavalli, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced this ambitious project. Global tech giants like IBM, TCS, and LT are partnering in this groundbreaking venture. IBM will deploy its powerful 156-qubit Quantum System Two—the most advanced in India—at the park, giving a huge push to India’s National Quantum Mission. Powering Innovation Across Industries TCS and IBM will join hands to build real-world quantum algorithms with applications in: These partnerships aim to place India on the global map for quantum innovation and practical use-case development. Building the future: Bricks and brains LT will lead the construction of the main campus and supporting infrastructure. To speed up development, the Andhra Pradesh government will form two key committees—one focused on infrastructure and the other on building a thriving quantum ecosystem. Plans also include hiring world-class experts to work on quantum-based public services like GST optimization, real-time census models, and India’s first quantum governance framework. A vision rooted in global excellence The Tech Park will follow a Silicon Valley-style model that blends academia, startups, and international talent. Naidu cited the Sanchez International School model as inspiration, highlighting the need for data-driven governance combined with human empathy. A key focus will be the analysis of over 1.7 crore families under the P4 initiative to better serve citizens using TCS’s technological capabilities. Shaping India’s quantum future Once operational, the Quantum Valley Tech Park is expected to become a powerhouse of high-end jobs, global investments, and talent development, paving the way for India’s leadership in the quantum era.
