This app is designed to help people stay alert and safe during natural disasters. Real-time alerts at your fingertips PM Modi stressed that the most important tool during any disaster is alertness. The ‘Sachet’ app offers real-time, geo-tagged alerts for disasters like floods, cyclones, landslides, tsunamis, forest fires, avalanches, storms, hurricanes, and lightning. It gives timely weather updates from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) to help people prepare in advance. “This app can save lives by warning users early. It’s available in 12 Indian languages and even has a read-out feature for easy understanding,” said the Prime Minister. India’s quick response to Myanmar’s earthquake PM Modi also spoke about Operation Brahma, a mission launched to help Myanmar after the devastating earthquake there. He praised the Indian teams who worked tirelessly to provide relief and rescue support. “Our Air Force and Navy quickly sent aircraft and ships loaded with blankets, tents, medicines, food items, and more,” PM Modi shared. Indian engineers also assessed damage to key buildings and infrastructure, setting up a field hospital to treat the injured. One of the most touching moments was the rescue of a 70-year-old woman who was trapped under rubble for more than 18 hours.
