Trend of large batteries in phones:Use of silicon-carbon battery in new smartphones; OnePlus-Oppo adopted, Samsung also in the race

For smartphone users, battery has always been the biggest concern. Charging daily has become a habit. But now this situation is changing. Companies are working on a new battery technology that promises more battery life without increasing the phone’s size. This technology is called silicon-carbon battery. It is coming in new smartphones. Recently, OnePlus Nord-6 was given a 9000 mAH battery for the first time. Samsung has also confirmed that it plans to bring silicon batteries to its upcoming smartphones.
How is this battery different? Lithium-ion batteries use graphite, where lithium ions move and generate electricity. Silicon-carbon batteries use silicon instead of graphite. Silicon can store many times more lithium ions compared to graphite. To understand this in simple terms, just as more people can find space in a room, this battery can store more energy. Users get these three benefits – The biggest advantage of this technology is that battery capacity can be increased without increasing the phone’s size. This means that where previously a 5,000mAh battery was available, now a 6,500mAh or larger battery is being offered in the same size. – With the new technology, companies have an option. They can adopt two approaches: either increase the phone’s backup by providing a larger battery, or keep the same battery and make the phone thinner and lighter. – These batteries perform better in different weather conditions. Their performance remains more stable even in cold or extreme heat. Charging speed is less affected when the phone gets hot.

Adopted by OnePlus-Oppo OnePlus 15 7,300mAh
OnePlus Nord 6 9,000mAh
Realme P4 Power 10,001mAh
Xiaomi 17 Pro Max 7,500mAh
Oppo Find X9 Pro 7,500mAh When will it come to Apple-Google? According to some reports, both Apple and Samsung are working on this technology. Samsung has also tested carbon-silicon batteries. However, Apple is currently refraining from working on this technology.
