Will Kohli overcome disappointing playoffs record to help RCB cruise to final?

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are all set to take on Gujarat Titans (GT) in the IPL 2026 play-off 1 match on Tuesday. The match is scheduled to be played at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala.
The Royal Challengers will clash against the Titans for direct entry in the title clash of the tournament. The title clash of the marquee event is scheduled to be played on May 31 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. For RCB to make it to the final, it would be important that Kohli manages to bring his `A-game` tonight.
So far, the right-handed batsman has featured in eight matches against Gujarat. With 460 runs at an average of 76.66 and a strike rate of over 152 runs, Kohli has a ton and four half-centuries against the Titans.
In 17 playoff stage matches for RCB since 2009, he has scored just 396 runs with an average of 26.4 and a strike rate of 121.1, with two fifties.
However, Kohli`s poor figures in the playoffs could be a concern for Bengaluru. In top-flight cricket, the Delhi-born cricketer has helped Team India secure several victories in T20 World Cup knockout games, but that has not been the case while representing RCB.
So far in the ongoing edition of the tournament, Kohli has accumulated 557 runs in 14 matches. With a top score of an unbeaten 105 runs, he has registered a ton and four half-centuries to his name.
Will Virat be able to overcome his underwhelming record in the playoffs and deliver a big knock against the Shubman Gill-led Titans?
